How the judging works

When creating the NZ Chocolate Awards it was important to us to develop a judging system that was fair, transparent and easy to use. The awards will be judged in a way that is well thought out and credible.
The NZ Chocolate Awards identifies key areas in the assessment of a chocolate sample and assigns marks as follows:
Appearance/Form 20%
Aroma 10%
Flavour 40%
Texture 30%
Judges will also assess chocolate with stand-out packaging design and presentation and nominate their best.
